The Shortest Man on the Earth

A Citizen of Philippines named Junrey Balawing has been declared the World's Shortest Man on the Third Earth. He is a residence of Sindangan, a rural town on the island of Mindanao, 865 kilometers in the south of the capital Manila in Philippines. The height of the World's Shortest Man is not more than 2 feet, about 23.5 inches or 59.93 centimeters. He is the eldest son of a local blacksmith named Reynaldo Balawing. Junrey was born in his native town Sindangan on June 12, 1993.
Junrey's name has been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. The special award title declaration ceremony was held in his native town on June 12, 2011 on his 18th birthday and it is coincidentally the Independence Day of Philippines. On this occasion, his parents and his villagers were gathered along with the host of journalists, officials and representative, the Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday who presented the Title Award to the Shortest Little Man of the World. Earlier, Junrey was measured by Craig Glenday in front of the media, his family and villagers and finally he was declared to be the World's Shortest Man on Earth. Thus, the World's Shortest Man Title was named as Junrey Balawing. The previous Title holder, Khagendra Thapa Magar, was also present in that event. He is a citizen of Nepal and is about 26.4 inches tall in height.
Junrey Balawing thanked everyone for making that day, the best event of his life. As, this event was THREE in ONE. It was his award ceremony, it was his birthday and it was also the Independence Day of his country. His 18th birthday became the memorable day ever for him. His birthday was celebrated along with the National Day of Philippines. It was an event with colourful balloons all over along with the feast of seafood, noodles, meat and the birthday cake especially made for that occasion and many more. Junrey got ready with the help of his parents and then blew out the candle placed on his birthday cake. As the World's Shortest Man was handed over his framed certificate, it almost reached at his ears while Junrey was standing on the stage.

Junrey's father, Reynaldo, provided the details of his son that since Junrey was 2 years of age, his growth suddenly stopped. He was just a moppet at that time. We showed Junrey to the local doctors but they were unable to diagnose the real cause of his stopped growth.

Junrey's mother said that he is too weak and unable to stand on the ground for a long time and faces difficulty while walking and need someone to help him walk. Junrey was admitted to a local school for sometime but we have to take him away from the school as the other kids didn't treat him better and would like to gather around him. Once, he was about to crush down under the feet of the children but fortunately was saved. So, we decided to teach him at home.
